Hill Holliday Account Supervisor Jenna Gabe is both a marketing industry veteran and a proud Ad Council partner. Hear from Gabe herself in an exclusive interview below!
Q: How have you worked with the Ad Council? What campaign(s) have you supported and what was the project you worked on with us?
Jenna Gabe: I worked with the Ad Council on the Saved By The Scan campaign for the American Lung Association’s Lung Force Initiative. We launched an awareness campaign about a new lung cancer screening that can detect lung cancer early when it’s still curable. This campaign has been so rewarding, especially since I personally know people who have been affected by this disease.
Q: Social good ads pull at our heartstrings. What social good ad has made you cry or stand up and cheer?
JG: “Evan” from Sandy Hook Promise by BBDO NY. This is a chillingly powerful PSA that has really stuck with me ever since it aired over a year ago.
Q: How do you or your team integrate social good into your work, or how do you think your brand is making the world a better place?
JG: There are currently 8 million people at risk for lung cancer. We want all of them to know that regardless of their past – this scan could save their life. By spreading this message and encouraging people to talk to their doctor we hope to help save lives!
Q: What was the greatest piece of advice someone gave you, and how did it end up helping you?
JG: Never get comfortable with being comfortable. Because of this, I always raise my hand for a new project as soon as I get comfortable with my current one. This advice led me to working with the Ad Council.
Q: What age would you want to meet up with your former self, and what advice would you give to that younger you?
JG: I would tell my younger self in high school to not be afraid of failure and to stop worrying about the future.
Q: You’re planning a “Change the World” dinner party and you can invite anyone (living, dead or fictional). Who are three people on your list?
JG: Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, and the kids leading March for our Lives.
Q: Tell us what you hope to see more of or experience more of in the next year, using only emojis.
Q: In 40 years, what will we be nostalgic for?
JG: Shopping Malls and house phones.
