2015 is shaping up to be an ADmirable year. In case you’ve been hibernating, we’ve round up our four favorite admirable pieces from January (so don’t worry about that FOMO–as always, we’ve got you covered).
Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York blew us away (as he often does) as his Indiegogo crowdfund to send Mott Hall Bridges Academy students on a trip to Harvard took off. It has since raised close to 1000 percent of its original goal. NO MORE released its Super Bowl ad to bring attention to domestic violence by featuring a real call of a woman who ordered a pizza when calling 9-1-1 to report her abusive husband. They remind us all how important it is to notice the signs of victims in need, who may not be able to explicitly ask for help. Speedo featured the inspirational 91-year-old Jurgen Schmidt who swims competitively and breaks age stereotypes. Stella Artois and Matt Damon paired up to ask us to buy a lady a drink, but not in “that way:” Stella Artois is partnering with Water.org to provide women in developing countries with clean drinking water.
