Think you’ve seen The Greatest Action Movie Ever? Well think again: because it’s about to make its debut this weekend on Disney XD.
The Greatest Action Movie Ever (or GAME for short) is a great example of using crowdsourcing to produce content. Over the past two years nearly a thousand kids submitted video entries to the website KidzBop.com. Kids then cast their votes (more than 5,000 votes in all) to select who would be selected to star alongside Ryan Ochoa of the hit Disney XD show Pair of Kings in a new film that promotes healthy lifestyles.
The film is an innovative extension of the Ad Council’s ongoing public service campaign with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which was initiated in 2005 to combat childhood obesity. McCann Erickson New York developed the film pro bono.
In the film, kids across America join together to form an “underground movement.” Their mission: to promote exercise and healthy eating and to stop the spread of lethargy nationwide. After the first half of the film airs this week on Disney XD, kids can visit BAM.gov to watch the conclusion. They can also download games and healthy-lifestyle resources that will help them live and eat like their favorite action heroes.
